I think I figured out how to structure mah practices:
Warmup with modern dance DVD
Conditioning: mishmash of various Suhaila stuff (squats, glutes, crunches, chestwork, undulations, calf raises, shoulder stuff, etc)
Daily Drills: consists of singles, twists, pelvic locks, interior squares and circles, figure 8s
That takes a little over 1.5 hours (hopefully it'll be less once I get it down and stop dicking around all the time)
Then I pick some special stuff to drill- ideally, it'll include stuff from the Level 2 manual, which I am ssllooowwlllyy working thru. So pick a Suhaila drill, drill it for 10 min or so, then pick another move or two to work on (arms, one hipwork, chest 8s, layering, etc). That should bring me to about 2 hours, maybe a little more.
Then drill 3-4 combos and string them together and drill that. I want to go back thru my list of Mardi combos because I've forgotten a lot. I also want to create my own to use for improv.
Then work on choreography. I worked on the Bird Girl Choreo a little today, and I want to create some arms patterns to throw in it somewhere.
Oh wait, I forgot isolation patterns. Those need to be practiced, too.
In addition to all that, I want to work with the vinyoga DVDs, especially upper back. Plus the gym. Plus regular dance classes and yoga & pilates classes. Which reminds me, I need to look up the gym class schedule.
So, my short term goals are:
finish Bird Girl
Be able to do singles full time consistently
review Mardi combos
liquid backwalk, one hip circle, and one hip 8 (all of which are in bird girl, so they need to be good)
build up calf strength
roll around on mah tennis balls (calves & IT band)
Also: even though I have had classes/practice the past 3 days, I'm not starting Day 1 until Friday (Thursday is usually my off day)
